Chimichurri Grill: Argentinean Food Adventure

I love Argentinean food.  I had not been to an Argentinean restaurant in quite a while so when a friend and I made plans to go to Chimichurri Grill I was very excited in anticipation of the delicious steak I would enjoy.

But before I get to the steak, the cocktail and appetizers....
For my drink, Clarito, the Argentinean classic martini but this one had a twist: a scoop of sorbet.  There are choices with this drink: gin or vodka, three types of sorbet (passion fruit, berry or something else I cannot remember).  I went with vodka and passionfruit.  This is a fun drink, mixing up the sorbet in the vodka, its playing with your food in a grown up way.  The drink is STRONG, like clear your sinuses strong but a good one.
We started our dinner with swiss chard and Manchego empanadas.  Now these are not your average empanadas.  The outside crust looks like traditional empanadas, but the inside was amazing.  The swiss chard and Manchego, absolutely heavenly combination.  I could have eaten a few of these but I wanted to leave room for the main course.

Argentinean Churrasco
As tempting as it was to look at other items on the menu, I had been thinking about the Argentinean Churrasco all week long so I chose that for my entree and it was a great choice.  The Argentinean Churrasco is a steak marinated with herbs, grilled and topped with a Chimichurri sauce (parsley, garlic, olive oil, vinegar).  This particular one, was made with thinly pound filet mignon. The meat was unbelievable tender, it was everything I'd been thinking about all week.

On to dessert....
Panqueques con Dulce de Leche
My choice: Panqueques con Dulce De Leche.  Translation, crepes with caramel sauce.  These were perfect.  Every bite I had the sweet creamy caramel sauce and the crepes had a crispy sugary coating.  This was the perfect way to wrap up such a delicious meal.

Chimichurri Grill is probably one of those restaurants that I'll go back to numerous times.  Not one dish was disappointing, on the contrary it was all memorable.  Until next time, Buen Provecho!
